This simple motif remind designer kathy merrick of Persian carpet Boteh (Old Persian for "cluster of leaves"). They can look like leaves, pine cones, pears, or paisleys. Each motif flows gracefully into the next, resulting in a swirled effect, and this lightweight wool yarn lends excellent drape to the whole project.
